The opportunity to change topics is welcome.] Yeah, I do! I make most of our costumes with some help from the others. I've always loved uniforms and stuff like that, so it was a pretty natural fit for me! Especially 'cause I'm not much of a musician so I can't work on the song in that way.
Really? [You brightens up. Someone she can talk one of her greatest passions with!] That's awesome!
I haven't gotten around to making a lot of my own everyday stuff yet, but I've been getting a ton of practice, so I probably could start doing that if I really wanted. What sorta material do you work with?
Heavier fabrics, like this one. [ she gestures to the dress she is wearing, heavy with layers, fur decorating the neckline, with a finely embroidered wolf's head in silver on the front. ]
This is very close to what I would make for myself... I did add the embroidery myself, after finding this dress on the station. Silk was very popular further south, back home, but I never really... found an occasion to try that fashion.
Ohhhh wow, it's so pretty! [You actually gets up to move a little closer to Sansa, leaning in and taking a look at it.] You did this embroidery by yourself? It's so delicate!
I bet the fur collar keeps you real warm on nights like these, too! I need to put something like that on all my winter jackets, haha. [She does not do well in cold weather.] Most of what I worked with was cotton, though I sometimes used synthetic fabrics for the frills and stuff... it was a little cheaper.
I have had much practice, [ and that is an understatement. it is one of the things she enjoyed the most — delicate, fine embroidery, decorating her dresses. ]
It is good for winter, yes. [ her smile turns a little wry, a little wistful, even though the words are normal enough. ] Perhaps, once we see what kind of fabric is available here, we might sit down and sew together.
[ frankly, she doesn't quite see how one might sew with a machine, as surely it could not perform as well and as accurately as one's hand, but she supposes it is one of the differences between different worlds. ]
I always made everything by hand... where I come from, no such machine exists.
[You nods, excitedly.] Of course! If they have them down here, I'd love to! It makes it go waaaaay faster, but-- I mean, there's no substitute for the by-hand touch, right? It's like... artisanal!

I've only ever done a little bit of hand sewing in my life, and never something as big a project as this.

[ and she has had a lot of practice, of course. ] Perhaps... one day, you might tell me how to work these machines.
